CAN I BE ARRESTED OR FINED FOR FAILING TO FOLLOW THE ILLINOIS GOVERNOR’S COVID ORDERS?

Yes, if a restaurateur can be cited for disobeying health code violations in your jurisdiction (county, city, etc.) you can probably be cited for a health code violation and written up to a $500 ticket.  This has already happened many times in Cook County where a man was alleged arrested for disobeying a COVID order after a warning.

You could be arrested for Disorderly Conduct a class C misdemeanor and fined up to $500 with maybe another $300 in court costs and sentenced to up to 30 days in jail.

Don’t risk the legal trouble, the COVID virus, or subjecting law enforcement to the virus.
